Paid Sick Leave Program for Nova Scotian’s is now open, helping to support when you need to stay home. The program allows workers who cannot work from home, including those who are self-employed, to take up to four paid sick days when they need to miss less than 50 per cent of their scheduled work week. The program covers workers who are:

– Waiting to get a COVID-19 lab test;
– Getting a COVID-19 lab test;
– Self-isolating while waiting for test results;
– Getting vaccinated.

Workers will continue to be paid for this time, and employers can apply for reimbursement of up to $20 per hour or $160 per day, to a maximum of $640 per worker.

Eligible self-employed workers can make a claim for loss of income. See full details on: https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/paid-sick-leave-
