Dear Industry Partner,

It has been a significant week with the announcement of the Atlantic Bubble starting on July 3rd. As we move into broader reopening of Nova Scotia’s economy, TIANS is continuing to advocate on measures that can support the Industry, and one in particular we would like you to help with. We are asking the federal government to implement a federal Tourism Tax Travel Credit for Canadians for 2020 (as referenced in the National Tourism Recovery Plan.) We believe that encouraging Canadians to help rebuild the economy and support local through a Tourism Tax Credit would be very good public policy. Correspondence has been sent to Nova Scotia Members of Parliament, requesting that they champion this issue on behalf of Nova Scotia’s tourism industry. Please connect at a local level with your MP – send an email, make a call. Lets do all we can to encourage Nova Scotians to support our economic rebuild – #$2000.

On a marketing and promotion front, Tourism Nova Scotia has begun its in-province Campaign and will be ramping up efforts over the next few weeks, including a roll out to the other Atlantic Provinces. TIANS is pleased to announce we are working in partnership with Tourism Nova Scotia to ensure we can support your business needs. Next week, we will launch the Clean It Right program for Nova Scotia, which will be available off the Tourism Strong portal (watch for details).  we are working on additional re-activation programs to support business in the months ahead.

On behalf of the TIANS team, please stay in touch – let us know how we can support you.  Take the time to support #$2000, and lets begin the rebuild.

Stay Tourism Strong.
