Dear Industry Member,

On behalf of TIANS and the Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council Staff, we hope you are having a strong Summer season.  As visitation to our province rebounds and business levels pick up, we know many of you continue to face operational challenges.  Staffing shortages abound in the sector, and will continue to do so for some time.  Our partners at Tourism HR Canada have just released The Projections of Tourism Employment Demand report, which is now available for download (see below).

Now more than ever, we are here for you, offering supports and resources to help you rebuild:

– The new Sector Labour Market Dashboard contains valuable workforce data for Nova Scotia
– The Tourism Talent job portal assists with recruitment for employers and provides job seekers careers in the industry
– Professional Development Scholarships are available to those working in Tourism
– The Propel Student Workplace Program, funded by the Government of Canada, offers employers a wage subsidy up to 75%

As always, you are encouraged to reach out to us for employee development requirements, customized training and HR support.  Staff at TIANS and NSTHRC would be pleased to connect with you on your business staffing needs – to ensure we rebuild a skilled, professional workforce for Nova Scotia.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Tourism!

Sincerely,

TIANS and NSTHRC Team

P.S. Don’t forget, September 1st is the Deadline for Seasonal Tourism Business Designation Applications for the 2023 Tax Year.
