A PARTNERSHIP REDUCING THE COST TO BUSINESSES SEEKING COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH
Would a research project help propel your business? Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) has partnered with MITACS to help make the cost for a post-secondary research project even more affordable.
The Mitacs Accelerate program, enables businesses to access research interns from post secondary institutions at half the cost. Now with NSBI’s partnership, eligible businesses will only pay a quarter of the ($15,000) cost. Approved applicants receive a 15-week internship with from post-secondary interns and faculty supervisors.
How it works
Step 1: Nova Scotia businesses partner with academic researchers to develop a research proposal.
Step 2: Proposals are submitted via a Mitacs Representative.
Step 3: Project costs are covered through combined business, government, and Nova Scotia Business Inc. funding.
Eligibility
- Eligible for-profit and not-for-profit corporations in Nova Scotia
- Under the Accelerate Entrepreneur initiative, eligible for intern-owned start-ups at approved incubators. Contact accelerate@mitacs.ca to confirm your start-up’s eligibility
- Not-for-profit corporation eligibility and project economic orientation must be assessed prior to proposal submission
