The following is a message from Jill Balser, Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration

On Monday, Sept. 6, Nova Scotians will mark Labour Day, an annual celebration of the tremendous efforts of workers, employers and the unions and associations that support them.

As the newly appointed Minister for the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, it is a great privilege to recognize your hard work this past year.

Together we continue to face challenges in the workforce brought on by COVID-19, but I am encouraged by your dedication to keeping each other safe.

I am committed to helping Nova Scotia reach our goals to attract the people we need, develop skills and education, stimulate business growth, find opportunities at home and earn a good wage.

I hope all Nova Scotians enjoy a safe and happy Labour Day weekend.
