The number of reported new cases of COVID-19 has subsided in the Atlantic provinces along with growing calls for easing restrictions on interprovincial movement. In this Commentary,

The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC)’s President and CEO, David Chaundy, explains why relaxing interprovincial restrictions within Atlantic Canada is important for families, businesses and hence the overall economy, and tourism. He urges Atlantic premiers and provincial health officials to take careful and measured steps to ease interprovincial travel restrictions and work as a region to better manage the costs and risks associated with COVID-19.
