As part of the Atlantic Canada Tourism Industry Association Caucus, TIANS together with our partners from Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island, TIANB / AITNB and Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador are calling on the federal government for an Air Stabilization Support Program.
Regional air service routes which took years to nurture and develop have been decimated and airport authorities are in crisis. As vaccination programs advance and we emerge from the pandemic, financial and policy support for airports and a plan around reactivation of regional routes through airline incentive programs will be crucial. Action on this issue will play a key role in Atlantic Canada’s competitiveness as a destination moving forward.
