Air Canada Advises of Service Cuts for Halifax Stanfield and Atlantic Region
Earlier this week, we were advised by Air Canada of further service cuts to our region that will take effect on January 11, 2021.
For Halifax Stanfield, the following routes are affected:
• Halifax – Ottawa (Temporarily suspended for one month beginning January 11. This service suspension could extend longer depending on market demand. Please note this means there will be no commercial passenger flights between Halifax and Ottawa for this period.)
• Halifax – Sydney (Suspended until further notice. This service was previously cut on a temporary basis beginning in November. Please note this means there will be no commercial passenger flights between Halifax and Sydney for the foreseeable future.)
• Halifax – Deer Lake (Temporarily suspended for one month beginning January 11. This service suspension could extend longer depending on market demand. Please note this means there will be no commercial passenger flights operating between Halifax and Deer Lake for this period.)
Air Canada also advised other Atlantic airports of service cuts and station closures this week. We feel for our colleagues at smaller airports who are losing their remaining services for the time being, which affects so many people in our industry as a whole.
