Today, Minister Joly announced the launch of ACOA’s application intake process for the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF), including details on the Fund and how it will be distributed in Atlantic Canada.

TIANS was pleased to note that this measure is specifically intended to support the tourism sector and for operators who have not been eligible for additional business supports.

In our region:

  • $66.75 million will come to ACOA to support businesses and organizations that are experiencing cash flow issues and are struggling to remain in operation, particularly those in sectors that are critical to the resilience and survival of Atlantic Canada’s economy.
  • $43.3 million will go to the Community Business Development Corporations (CBDC) to, in part, support small “main street” businesses, retailers and shops in rural and remote communities that sustain the vibrancy of local economies.

The following link provides details on the Fund as well as a link to the online application form, which can be submitted electronically or by mail. https://www.canada.ca/en/atlantic-canada-opportunities/campaigns/covid19/rrrf.html

For any tourism SMEs or organizations that are already ACOA clients and interested in learning more about the Fund, they are encouraged to contact their program officer directly prior to applying to ensure a seamless and speedy application process. For those who are not ACOA clients, they can reach out to the Agency by phone at 1-800-561-7862 or send an email to [email protected]. As discussed previously, this fund is complementary to existing federal programs and SMEs / organizations must first apply for other federal support measures prior to applying to the RRRF.
